With the increasing availability of effective vaccines in Saskatchewan, the University of Regina says, in alignment with the province’s other post-secondary institutions, it has begun planning for a carefully staged reopening of its campuses this fall. This despite the fact that Saskatchewan’s Chief Medical Health Officer says low vaccine uptake means our risk of an upsurge in COVID-19 cases in the fall increases.
The fall semester will be approached as a transitional one; characterized by a significant increase in on-campus activities that will transition toward resuming near normal operations in the winter of 2022.
Registration for fall classes is now open; and, through that process, U of R students can learn how each of their courses will be delivered, allowing them to plan their schedules and accommodations. The University will continue to have a large number of course offerings delivered remotely to ensure as much flexibility as possible for students.

Health and safety protocols and precautions will continue to be in effect during the fall term. Students can expect masking, sanitizing, physical distancing, and other measures to be part of the campus experience.
The level of face-to-face activities, events, and services that will be available for fall 2021 has yet to be determined as it depends on a number of variables, including; vaccine deployment, infection rates, and public health guidelines among others.
