Here’s a company that’s going the extra mile to protect its staff. EACOM Timber Corporation of Ear Falls, Ontario is incentivizing staff to get vaccinated by financially rewarding them, and contractors, who get the COVID vaccine: $200 for the first dose, $150 for the second, and a straight $350 for the single shot vaccine if done by December 31st. It’s retroactive to December 2020. Those who cannot receive the vaccine for medical reasons can still apply to receive the bonus and so can new employees, even if they received the vaccine prior to their start date. The company is hoping for an 85 per cent vaccination rate among staff at its nine sawmills and two secondary manufacturing facilities across Quebec and Ontario.
