SaskPower is reporting that a power outage Thursday night that effected multiple west side Saskatoon neighbourhoods was caused by a cable fault.

At around 10:28 p.m. Saskatoon-Pacific Heights, Confederation Park, Kensington, Hampton Village, Westview, Dundonald, Massey Place, Fairhaven, Parkridge and Blairmore neighbourhoods all experienced a sudden power outage.

SaskPower reports cable faults are one of the most common causes of outages, and typically occur because of age or environmental factors. About a third of the outages SaskPower experiences are as a result of aging infrastructure.

SaskPower reports this outage affected a total of approximately 11,500 customers.  Repairs were completed at 12:46 a.m. Friday Morning.
