Moose Jaw Police have charged an Edmonton man with attempted murder, after an incident on Friday .
Moose Jaw Police received a 911 call in the 800 block of 4th Avenue north east, and when they arrived officers report a physical altercation between two men and a women inside the house had occurred. One man had allegedly fired a handgun at the other man but who was not struck. Police say the victim sustained only minor injuries during the physical altercation.
25 year-old Yonis Asefaw, of Edmonton, was arrested for Attempted Murder and police allege he was found to be concealing a loaded handgun, was in possession of almost 16 ounces of Cocaine with a street value of approximately $45,000 and approximately $6,000 in cash. Members of the Criminal Investigation Section continued the investigation and recovered evidence in the house they say supports the Attempted Murder charge.
Asefaw is also charged with six firearm offenses and possession for the purpose of trafficking a controlled substance. He has been remanded to appear in court on Monday. A 48 year-old Moose Jaw woman was charged with Assault with a Weapon and released to appear in court at a later date.
