Swift Current’s Windscape Kite Festival and Long Day’s Night Music Festival, both of which which are usually held around the summer solstice in June are being cancelled again this year because of the pandemic. Organizers from both events say in a news release that events like these strengthen the fabric of their communities, provide volunteer opportunities and bring people from all cultures and backgrounds together. Windscape and Long Day’s Night will be back, June 16th to 19th of 2022. Over 40 national and international stars of kite performing and kite-making annually attend Windscape.
