This is as “Canadian” of a case of theft as you can get and it isn’t really a crime!  Porcupine Plain R-C-M-P responded to a May 7th complaint in a rural area of the theft of some posts that were piled on a property, only to have them go missing. What was supposed to be for a fence on the property was too good to pass up for a beaver or beavers as the posts were found in a nearby waterway (pictured).

“The stolen posts were located in a beaver dam,” explained Constable Conrad Rickards of the Porcupine Plain R-C-M-P detachment. “A beaver, or beavers, helped themselves to the stash of posts and used them to help build a dam. I tried locating said beavers, but they were G-O-A (gone on arrival).”

Needless to say the case has been closed without any charges being with Constable Rickards adding, “Who could really blame these little bucktooth bandits, considering the price of wood these days?!”
