Three Saskatoon schools and a school in Warman are reporting COVID-19 cases, including possible variants of concern.
On Friday, officials from the Saskatchewan Health Authority informed the Greater Saskatoon Catholic School Division of positive COVID-19 cases in individuals at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Catholic School, St. Michael Community School and École St. Gerard School. GSCS says the cases at St. Michael and St. Gerard are being investigated as a variant of concern.
Then on Saturday two positive COVID-19 cases in individuals at Holy Trinity Catholic School in Warman that are being investigated as a variant of concern.
The school division is working with Public Health to notify parents and caregivers and the SHA is recommending that all close contacts get tested. Risk of exposure for anyone not considered a close contact remains low.
The affected classes will switch to online learning.
