Safety Inspections

For the last two days Corman Park Police and Saskatchewan Highway Patrol teamed up with SGI for vehicle and trailer inspections.  They were also inspecting  heavy commercial vehicles.  The inspections took place in a variety of locations within the RM of Corman Park. Approximately 25 trailers were placed out of service for safety violations. Approximately 50 tickets were issued for other safety violations and a few heavy commercial vehicles were placed out of service for safety violations as well.

Speeder

Just before 8 a.m. Friday morning, Corman Park Police, working with Saskatchewan Highway Patrol, say they initially clocked a vehicle travelling 168km/hr.  It reportedly passed Highway Patrol and reached a speed of 186km/hr. The driver was issued a ticket of $1313.00 and the vehicle was impounded for seve7 days for driving twice the speed limit of 90 km/hr on Dalmeny Road.  Corman Park Police say the driver told officers they were late for work.

Theft

Shortly after two in the morning on Thursday, Corman Park Police Service spotted an SUV parked in a field beside a business in the Yellowhead Industrial Park.  Officers found a male near the business in a field.  Upon conversing with the individual, police learning he was breaching his court ordered curfew.  After arresting the man, a search of his vehicle turned up a large amount of copper wire.  Meanwhile a search of the area turned up more cut copper wire laying inside a compound of the business.  The male was charged with  breaching his curfew, possession of stolen property, mischief, and possession of break and enter tools.
