An investigation by the Saskatoon Police Service’s Drug Unit has resulted in the arrest of two women and the seizure of drugs, drug paraphernalia and other evidence consistent with drug trafficking. At about 10 p.m. on May 25th, the Drug Unit and Tactical Support Unit executed search warrants at two separate locations. One was a residence in the 100 block of Keevil Crescent and the other at a home in the 400 block of 3rd Avenue North.
At the Keevil Crescent location, a 26-year-old woman resisted arrest and was tasered by officers. Following a medical assessement at the scene, the suspect was taken into custody without further incident. Police then seized 822 grams of soft cocaine, 340 grams of hard cocaine, nearly 500 Xanax pills, 27 grams of psilocybin, four kilograms of “filler”, over $100,000 cash, cell phones and other drug trafficking paraphernalia.
At the 3rd Avenue North scene, a 32-year-old woman was arrested without incident with a cell phone and over $500 cash seized. Both women are charged with drug trafficking, possession for the purpose of trafficking and possession of the proceeds of crime over $5,000.
