When Regina Police received word of a vehicle parked for hours, with the engine running, on the 800 block of East Victoria Avenue, they popped around for a look. They say they found a 36 year-old Regina man, asleep in the driver’s seat; an open bottle of alcohol on the passenger side. He was arrested and, as he got out of the car, officers say they saw a large axe. A search of the vehicle allegedly turned up a 9mm handgun, a loaded magazine, a knife, cell phones, and more alcohol. Investigation revealed the handgun was stolen and the driver was found to be on conditions not to possess firearms. He was subsequently charged and held for court.
Thirty-six year-old Andrew Jay Anderson is facing numerous weapons-related charges.
