One man is in custody facing numerous firearm related charges after a traffic stop early Saturday morning.

At 1:17 a.m., Saskatoon Police Service members with the Tactical Support Unit pulled a suspicious vehicle over at 17th Street West and Ave N South.

Police say the lone occupant of the vehicle, a 24 year-old man, ran from the traffic stop. He was immediately arrested without incident as he allegedly attempted to go in a nearby home. Officers report locating a sawed off shotgun in the vehicle.

The driver is charged with numerous firearm offenses, breach of probation, and also had a warrant for his arrest for being unlawfully at large. He will remain in custody until being seen by a Justice of the Peace Saturday evening.
