An elementary school in the Pleasant Hill neighbourhood went into a brief perimeter lockdown today (Thurs) after Saskatoon Police were dispatched to a park in the 300 block of Avenue N South around 11:40 a.m. St. Mary’s Wellness and Education Centre is on that block.
It was reported that a man and woman were seen in an altercation where a gun was involved. Two people were arrested at 20th Street West and Avenue P South. Police say a 25 year old man was found with a sawed-off rifle and collapsible baton. It’s alleged a 26 year old woman had an imitation firearm and pepper spray. Both are facing numerous charges including possession of a dangerous weapon and possession of meth.
Saskatoon Police Resource Officers attended the school to offer support to staff and students.
