Frank Atchison will begin his attempt to walk to the top of Lumsden Hill Thursday. In the latest update of Where’s Frank?
the 94 year old Saskatoon Shriner has walked 230 kilometres as of Wednesday since setting out from Saskatoon for Regina on April 15th.
In an update provided by the committee helping Frank on his trek, they say the Lumsden hill has been weighing on his mind because of the steepness and the distance. In addition, temperatures are expected to top out Thursday in the mid-thirties. Frank is still on schedule to wrap up his journey in Regina on June 15th for his 95th birthday and 50 years as a Shriner.
The committee says the last few weeks have gotten far more challenging for Frank and he continues to go home nightly to rest in Saskatoon. So far Frank Atchison has raised over $38,000. The money will be divided between the Jim Pattision Children’s Hospital Foundation and the Shriner’s Hospital for Children.
