A late Monday afternoon bank robbery in Dodsland has R-C-M-P looking for a male suspect who abandoned his stolen get-away vehicle south of town.

Around 4:15 p.m. on June 7, R-C-M-P officers from Kindersley, Rosetown and Biggar responded to the call of the bank on the 200 block of 2nd Avenue in Dodsland being held up by a lone male. He smashed the glass of the front door after the bank was closed, entered with a firearm and demanded cash. However, he left empty-handed. The suspect is described as being caucasian, about six feet tall and weighing 220 pounds, wearing black track pants, a black and grey windbreaker-style jacket and a full-faced skeleton-style mask. He left in a brown 2002 Ford F-250 S-D super cab truck, which he abandoned south of Dodsland. Once police located the truck, they learned it had been stolen from a rural property near the town. Employees of the bank at the time of the attempted robbery were not physically harmed and the suspect has yet to be located.
