Frank Atchison has completed his seventh week on the road as he continues his fund-raising walk from Saskatoon to Regina. His crew says this week was the biggest concern to him because of the Lumsden Hill; how would he get from the base of the Qu’appelle Valley up the hill to flatter land? During the record-breaking temperature last Thursday, Frank made it; and then put on another 10 kilometers on Thursday and Friday.
Frank is still on schedule to conclude his journey in Regina on June 15th for his 95th birthday and 50 years in Shrine. Vehicles with well-wishers are continually stopping him daily showing Frank their appreciation and offering donations; posing for pictures.
The walk to date has raised over $40,000. The money will go to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
