The Saskatchewan RCMP have confirmed an officer was killed Saturday while on duty. More information is expected soon.
RCMP officers were searching for suspects in the area in relation to a serious motor vehicle collision which occurred earlier in the morning. Officer Shelby Patton was reportedly struck by a vehicle departing the scene, and killed. Two suspects were taken into custody shortly before 10:00 a.m. on Saturday morning.
Residents in the areas surrounding Wolseley and Francis will continue to see an increased police presence as officers conduct the investigation. Residents are asked to respect all direction given by officers in the area. Wolseley is about 95 kilometres east of Regina
