This is the day [tues] that Frank Atchison concludes his monumental walk from Saskatoon to Regina. The walk will end with a mini SHRINE PARADE starting at about 2:00 pm from the Conexus Arts Center in Regina, and ending on the Legislative Grounds on Frank’s 95th birthday and celebrating 50 years in Shrine.
The money from this fundraiser will go to the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in Saskatoon and the Shriners Hospital for Children.
There will be a short program starting at 3:00 pm recognizing Frank’s accomplishment but the most important part will be a patient from each of the hospitals giving a brief recap of their remarkable life-altering experiences. Organizers are hoping for representatives from the provincial, federal, and municipal governments.
At last count, the walk has raised $49,199 dollars as of this morning. You can go to wawashriners.org to make a donation. And, the donating doesn’t stop just because the walk has.
