A 53 year old former RCMP officer has pleaded not guilty to first degree murder. The Prince Albert Police Service charged Bernie Herman in connection to the death of 26 year old Braden Herman, whose body was found south of Little Red River Park on May 11th. A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for the week of December 13th.
Prince Albert Police allege that Bernie Herman called a co-worker on the night of Braden Herman’s death saying he had killed someone, then later told officers where Braden’s body was. Although the two share a last name, they are not related, but police say they knew each other.
Bernie Herman, a 32 year member of the RCMP, resigned from the force on May 15th.
