Update: Traffic is no longer being re-routed and emergency vehicles have cleared the scene.

Maidstone RCMP are currently at the scene of a two-vehicle collision on Highway 17, approximately five kilometers north of Lloydminster.

Highway 17 is blocked in both directions and traffic is being re-routed for an undetermined amount of time.  Motorists are advised to plan alternate routes and to follow traffic directions given by officers on scene. Motorists are also reminded to slow down to 60 km/hr when passing emergency vehicles.

Lloydminster Rescue Squad, local EMS and fire department are also on scene to assist. An RCMP Collision Reconstructionist is en-route to investigate.

An update will be released once the highway reopens.
