With the province’s recent achievement in reaching Step 2 of the Re-Opening Roadmap, the City of Saskatoon says it is responding to province moving to Step 2 of the Re-Opening Roadmap by adjusting recreational indoor and outdoor programs and services.
In Leisure Centres, court sports have been reintroduced to the list of program opportunities.
Pickleball will be offered at Saskatoon Field House and Lakewood Civic Centre beginning June 20
Badminton will be available at Saskatoon Field House beginning June 20
Racquetball will be available at Cosmo Civic Centre beginning July 2
Restrictions on fitness and weight rooms and fitness programs remain unchanged from Step 1.
Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre Fitness/Weight Room will reopen on June 21.
Step 2 will allow aqua fitness and lane swimming to follow the same guidelines as fitness classes and effective June 20, the number of spots available will be increased provided two meters of physical distance can be maintained.
All hot tubs are now open for use during public programmed activities at Lakewood and Lawson Civic Centres, Harry Bailey Aquatic Centre and Shaw Centre. Visit saskatoon.ca/leisureonline for the facility schedule.

Outdoor Pools
Three of the City’s outdoor pools (Lathey, Mayfair and Riversdale) are now open for everyone to enjoy and operating safely within allowable capacities for each facility as per the Government of Saskatchewan Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan.
A reminder that non-medical face masks are required in the following indoor/covered spaces:
Admissions windows/counters
Changerooms or washrooms
Concession and tunnel kiosk areas at Riversdale and George Ward Pools
When interacting with City staff if 2 metre distancing cannot be met
Masks are not required on the pool deck or grass areas and must be removed before participating in aquatic activities.
Participants under the age of 14 require an adult guardian to be present in order to assist with proper screening and compliance of physical distancing requirements.

Book a Visit
Drop-in program capacity continues to be managed through ‘Book a Visit’ on Leisure Online at saskatoon.ca/leisureonline. Residents can browse and book available drop-in programs at the Leisure Centres and outdoor pools online up to 2 days in advance. To book, choose the ‘Book a Visit’ option, select your facility and drop-in program of choice, and follow the easy steps. Visits can also be booked by calling 306-975-2855 from 9:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. daily. Please call any Leisure Centre to cancel if you are unable to attend your booking.
Private & Public Facility Rental Opportunities
Private rentals such as meetings, fitness classes and birthday parties at indoor leisure facilities are available as space allows and provided two metres of physical distance is maintained. Public rentals and events can accommodate up to 150 people provided physical distance is maintained.
Groups interested in room rentals at City of Saskatoon leisure facilities will be provided with the COVID-19 External Group Guidelines and Return to Play Rental Form. Completed forms are reviewed and approved by the City to ensure groups are following the guidelines for their activity. Visit saskatoon.ca/facilityrentals for facility contact information.
Step 3
The City continues planning and preparation for the implementation of Step 3 of the Re-Opening Roadmap, which will be July 11. In addition, the City regularly reviews both the Government of Saskatchewan’s Re-Opening Roadmap and Re-Open Saskatchewan Plan for continued updates so that we can respond and adjust our operations as quickly as possible.
