A man from Southend was arrested, on weapons charges, after a gun was fired on Friday night.

That night at approximately 9:55 p.m., Southend RCMP received a complaint that a man discharged a firearm inside a home on Olsen Street in Southend.  The bullet hit an exterior wall of the residence and no one was injured.

A search of the residence resulted in officers seizing three modified firearms, 19 grams of psilocybin mushrooms split into packages and a sum of cash.

As a result of investigation, Tarrant Nordin of Southend, has been charged with:

– 1 count, assault with weapon, Section 267(a), Criminal Code

– 1 count, trafficking, Section 5(1), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

– 1 count, possession for the purpose of trafficking, Section 5(2), Controlled Drugs and Substances Act

– 1 count, use firearm in commission of an offence, Section 85(1)(a), Criminal Code

– 3 counts, unsafe storage of a firearm, Section 86(2), Criminal Code

– 1 count, carry weapon for a dangerous purpose, Section 88, Criminal Code

– 1 count, unlicensed possession of a firearm, Section 91(1), Criminal Code

– 1 count, unlicensed possession of a prohibited firearm, Section 95(1)(a), Criminal Code

– 1 count, unlicensed possession of a prohibited firearm with readily accessible ammunition, Section 95(1)(b), Criminal Code

– 2 counts, manufacture a prohibited firearm, Section 99(2), Criminal Code

– 1 count, unlawfully remove a serial number on a firearm, Section 108(1), Criminal Code

Nordin will appear in court on Tuesday.
