Regina Police say a long-sought confirmation in a 23-year-long disappearance/missing person/cold case has been made.
This is with respect to human remains recovered in rural Saskatchewan on December 3, 2020. The remains have been confirmed as those of then-53-year-old Patrick Cyril Thauberger who disappeared in 1997.
78 year-old Joseph George Thauberger of Regina, has been charged with First-Degree Murder, Offer an Indignity to a Dead Human Body, and Uttering Threats.
He made his first court appearance on these charges back in November.
