SGI says it is reporting strong financial results after a challenging year. The Crown Corporation says exceptionally strong investment earnings and lower-than-anticipated collision claims enabled the Auto Fund to provide the company’s largest ever rebate program to vehicle owners, amounting to $285 million, and to implement enhanced injury benefits for its most seriously injured customers. The Auto Fund is the auto insurance plan administered by SGI.

Minister Responsible for SGI Don Morgan says, “SGI CANADA exceeded its targets in the past fiscal year.” The organization sells property and casualty insurance throughout Western Canada and Ontario. With more than 980 thousand customers, SGI Canada realized net income of $172.1 million in 2020-21.
