With a season-ending injury to Jelane Pryce, the Saskatchewan Rattlers will fill his spot on their C-E-B-L roster with Regina product Kai Williams.
Like Pryce, Williams was a member of the Snakes during last year’s Summer Series, appearing in five of six games and averaging 4.8 points in 18 minutes of action per contest. Williams will make his season debut Friday night when Saskatchewan hosts Guelph at 7 p.m. at SaskTel Centre. Meanwhile, the Rattlers announced another signing late Wednesday afternoon. Texas product Demarcus Holland is a combo guard who will make his Fangs debut on Friday against Guelph. The 6-foot-3 Holland played collegiately for the Texas Longhorns before starting a pro career that has taken him across the U-S, Africa and Europe…most recently in Germany. The Saskatchewan Rattlers are excited to announce the signing of Demarcus Holland.
The American combo guard will make his CEBL debut this Friday against the Guelph Nighthawks at 7 PM. Tickets are available online via Ticketmaster.
Holland, a Texas native, has racked up professional experience across the globe. Most recently, Holland played for the Jena Basketball Club based out of Jena, Germany. Germany is Holland’s latest venture in a pro career that has taken him across the United States, Africa, and Europe. Averaging 8.6 points, 2.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds over the course of his professional career, Holland has demonstrated that he can get the job done on both ends of the court. Holland has previous experience playing for Fer. Maputo in the Basketball Africa League and two NBA G League teams: the Agua Caliente Clippers and the South Bay Lakers.
Before his professional career, Holland spent four years playing collegiate basketball at the University of Texas. Holland averaged 5.2 points and 2.8 rebounds in 22.6 minutes over the course of 133 collegiate games. The 6-foot-3 guard was named to the BIG12 All-Defensive Team during his sophomore season with the Longhorns.
“Holland has proven himself to be a great player throughout his time in the G League and overseas. We are looking forward to seeing him in a Rattlers uniform,” said Rattlers GM Barry Rawlyk. “The addition of Holland will fill a gap in our roster and help us make a push towards the back half of our season”

The Saskatchewan Rattlers are excited to announce the return of Kai Williams.
Williams, a Regina native, will return to the Rattlers roster and appear in his second season as part of the Rattlers. Williams will make his season debut in Friday night’s home game matchup against the Guelph Nighthawks. Tickets are available for Friday night’s game via Ticketmaster.
Aside from his time with the Rattlers, Williams has been playing professional basketball overseas since 2011. He has played in numerous professional leagues around the world, including the British Basketball League (BBL), the Cypriot Basketball Division A (Cyprus’s top-tier basketball league), and the Basketligan (Sweden premier professional basketball league). Throughout his professional career, Williams has averaged 9.2 points, 4.4 rebounds, and 25.9 minutes.
Prior to playing professionally, Williams attended Campbell Collegiate in Regina and South Dakota State University. He averaged 11.5 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 31.7 minutes over three years with the Jackrabbits.
To accommodate for the move in accordance with the CEBL’s roster limit, Jelane Pryce has been released from the team due to injury.
