The southern half of the province is under an extreme heat warning from Environment Canada.
Daytime highs in the low thirties and overnight lows in the mid to high teens, and then a cold front will come from the north, easing the heat in central Saskatchewan later tonight.
Areas further south will see that heat remain for the weekend.
Then, the heat wave will redevelop over the Prairies, bring more temperatures in the 30-plus category to much of the southern and central Prairies through to the end of next week.
Add to that the air quality statements from the forest fires in the north.
Saskatoon is on the southern end of the air quality statements from Environment Canada and blanket the north.
The smoke in central Saskatchewan, including Saskatoon, should improve tomorrow as a low pressure system advances from the south, changing the wind direction again.
