The number of active forest fires has risen by 27 since Friday morning, with 164 being reported by the Saskatchewan Public Safety Agency as of 10:15 Monday morning.
Of those, 25 are not contained, ten are contained, 102 are under assessment, and the SPSA is protecting property on 24 of them.
There have been 423 wildfires this year which is almost double the five year average of 214.

Fires of note:
The Lock fire is near the communities of St. George’s Hill, Michel Village, Dillon and Buffalo River Dene Nation. The SPSA says the fire is within 5.6 kilometres of Michel Village.
The Forks fire is within 20 kilometres of Beauval and is affecting Highways 155, 165 and 965.
The Strike fire is north of Dorintosh. The nearby communities are Waterhen Lake First Nation and the southeast sections of Meadow Lake Provincial Park. It is also affecting Highway 905 and 951 in that area.
The Rabbit fire is south of La Ronge. It has crossed Highway 2 North and Junction 165.
The Harding fire is north of Smeaton. It is about 500 metres from Highway 106.
The White fire is north of Candle Lake. It’s affecting the Whelan Bay Recreation Site and Highway 963.
The GMB01 fire is east of Grandmother’s Bay.
The Mule fire is south of Stanley Mission. The SPSA says the fire is within seven kilometres of the community and is slowly burning into natural barriers.
The Lynx fire is west of Stanley Mission. This fire, along with the Gray and Deer fires are in close proximity to the junction of Highway 102 and 915 and has crossed Highway 102.
The Gray fire is northeast of Missinipe.
The Klyne fire is west of Southend and affects that community along with the Peter Ballantyne First Nation. The fire is within 3 kilometres of Southend. The fire is also near the Reindeer Lake Recreation Site.
The Kewen fire is west of Wollaston and this includes the Cowalt, Rabbit and Ahenekew fires. The SPSA says values in the area include the Rabbit Lake Mine, Wollaston Lake Lodge and Highway 905.
The Forsberg fire is west of Creighton and the values in the area are the Jan Lake Resort, Highway 106 and Foran Mine.
