On Friday night the Saskatoon Police Service’s traffic unit held a check-stop with some unusual results.
Police report the check-stop caught one impaired driver, one driver who was already suspended for previous impaired driving and four other tickets, a driver approaching the checkpoint at 30 kilometres per hour over the speed limit, in an uninsured car and the check-stop also lead to the arrest of a person on a warrant for arson.
Officers also report a 16 year-old boy was allegedly caught riding a non-street legal dirt bike around with a second youth as a passenger. Police report neither were wearing a helmet but they taped a flashlight the motorcycle it so it would have a headlight.
