Saturday afternoon, Onion Lake RCMP received a report from security personnel at an event on the Onion Lake Cree Nation that a firearm had been found at a security checkpoint.
Police say while performing their checkpoint duties, security staff found a bag with a semi-automatic inside and ammunition in it.
After determining who the bag belonged to, a 43 year old man was found at a home on the Cree Nation and arrested.
Robin Wuttunee is a court-designated dangerous offender.
His multiple charges include carrying a concealed weapon, unauthorized possession of a restricted/prohibited weapon with ammunition and possession of a firearm contrary to a prohibition order.
