How would you rate the performance of the Prime Minister? It’s a question that pollster Leger put to Canadians. The question arose as we seem to be heading for a fall election. According to Leger, we are evenly split on Justin Trudeau’s performance since coming into office in 2015 with 48 per cent giving a thumbs up and 47 per cent thumbs down.
The top three issues Canadians think Trudeau has performed well or very well on are:
Managing the COVID-19 pandemic (55%),
Improving Canada’s international reputation (47%),
and improving relations with provincial and territorial leaders (42%).
Nearly half (47%) of Canadians indicate their opinion of Trudeau has worsened since he became Prime Minister in 2015.
According to the poll, if a federal election were held today, 34 per cent would vote Liberal, 29 per cent Conservative, 22 per cent NDP, seven per cent Block, Four per cent Green, three per cent PPC, and one per cent another party.
