There were no life-threatening injuries reported following a three-vehicle accident on Monday afternoon. Around 2 p.m., Warman R-C-M-P went out to Highway 16, three kilometres east of Maymont, to respond to reports of a red car driving the wrong way, speeding through a construction zone, weaving in and out of traffic and almost hitting highway workers. A photo posted by one of the workers caught an image of the car’s driver giving construction workers, what appears to be, the middle finger.

The red car eventually struck a second red car, then sideswiped a third black car before entering the ditch and rolling. The second red car rolled into the ditch and was severely damaged.

The 21-year-old driver of the first, red car was transported to hospital. The highway remained open throughout the investigation with the police investigation ongoing. SGI says there are 100 to 200 accidents in construction zones each year and speeding fines in construction zones are some of the steepest in the province.
