Creighton conservation officers say heavy equipment was used to push gravel and rock into Meridian Creek to alter the flow of water.

This is just off of Highway 167 between Creighton and Denare Beach. It is unlawful to alter the bed, bank or boundary of any waterbody unless permitted to do so through the Water Security Agency.

The Conservation Officers say the work was believed to have been done between July 9, 2021 and July 15 and they point out Meridian Creek is a fish-bearing waterbody that flows through several fish-bearing lakes ending at Amisk Lake.

The Ministry of Environment asks anyone with information on who made the alteration to the flow of water, to contact the TIP line at 1-800-667-7561. You can remain anonymous, and may be eligible for a cash reward of up to $2000.
