Official Opposition Leader Ryan Meili and Critic for SaskTel Trent Wotherspoon, are calling on the Sask. Party to immediately scrap what the opposition calls, their Crown corporation rebrand vanity project and release the full costs associated with the project to date.
The Official Opposition submitted an access to information request to SaskTel for “all internal correspondence regarding potential changes to the corporation’s logo or visual identity.” The NDP says, documents show that an unnamed third party may have been involved in discussions surrounding rebranding, and that SaskTel needs more consultations with the third party before the documents can be released.
Meili says, “The documents released so far show that discussions were much farther along than the Sask. Party is willing to admit. The Sask. Party needs to come clean with the details of this vanity project, including the total amount wasted so far.”
Wotherspoon says the last thing that the Sask. Party should be spending time and public dollars on is an expensive rebrand to change the logos for the Crowns. He thinks this is all about the Sask. Party taking control of the Crowns for partisan self interest.
