There was no Saskatoon Fringe Festival last summer thanks to the pandemic, but it’s happening this year with a hybrid model. One of the digital performances is called Isolation Journals.

Reba Terlson says she wrote the show taking inspiration from her first months of the pandemic, when all of her shows and auditions were cancelled.
She describes it as a weird feeling, because she had no creative outlet, and that led to no creative inspiration, so Terlson spent six or seven months not making any art because she couldn’t see the point.

Terlson describes her show as dramatic storytelling, but emphasizes it’s not too heavy. She adds that digital performances are available anytime during the Fringe Festival. Both in person and online performances begin Thursday night and run through August 7th. The in-person venues are the Broadway Theatre, the Refinery and W.E. Graham Park.

There are 15 in person theatre groups performing at the three venues and 21 shows are available online.
