For an eighth consecutive day, there were more than 50 new cases of COVID-19 in Saskatchewan.
In fact, the 90 new cases shown in Wednesday’s provincial government dashboard was the second highest number in the eight-day span, boosting the seven-day average for new cases to 81. Coupled with 44 recoveries and Saskatchewan’s active cases of the novel coronavirus rose to 682. From that number, 65 people are in hospital because of COVID-19 with 15 of those infections being treated in an I-C-U. There were no new deaths due to the virus in the province, leaving the total COVID-19-related fatalities at 584. There were 1,912 doses of vaccine administered on Tuesday, 1,370 of which were to individuals who are now fully vaccinated.

- Almost one-third (31.1%) of new cases are in both the 19 and under and 20 to 39 years age category
- As of August 11th, a total of 65 individuals are hospitalized, including 50 inpatient hospitalizations and 15 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 65 patients, 45 (69%) are not fully vaccinated.

- 978,122 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 9, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 824,092 tests performed per million. The national rate of 1,028,018 tests performed per million.
