Regina Police say a second person has been arrested and charged in connection with that city’s eighth homicide of the year. The victim was 33 year-old Jason Bird. This investigation began on July 15, just after 5:00 a.m., when officers were sent to the 800 block of Princess Street. An injured, adult male, later identified as Jason Bird, was found at that location. Patrol officers provided first aid until EMS arrived. The victim was taken to hospital where he later succumbed to his injuries.
As the result of investigation, the two individuals were arrested, one on August 4th, and the second on Tuesday. Thirty-two year-old Okimaw Russell Night-Fox is charged with First-Degree Murder and Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition Contrary to Prohibition Order.
The first person arrested was 27 year-old Terrance Desnomie from the Fort Qu’Appelle district. He is charged with First Degree Murder, Possession of Stolen Property, Breach of Release Order, and Possession of a Weapon for a Purpose Dangerous to Public Peace. The investigation is ongoing.
