Saskatchewan has 190 new, confirmed cases of COVID-19, which is the highest it has been since mid-May. A month ago, there were 22 new cases reported, so today’s (Thurs) number is an almost 764 per cent increase.
For the eighth day in a row, no one has died related to COVID-19, and the total fatalities to date is 586. Two-thousand-eight-hundred-and-forty-one people were vaccinated on Tuesday with 949 of those being first doses and another 1,892 people are fully vaccinated.
There are 86 people in the hospital, and 16 of those are in ICU. The province says 76 per cent of the patients are not fully vaccinated.

- 51,821 cases are confirmed
- 12,334 cases are from the Regina area
- 12,196 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 11,398 cases are from the North area (4,885 North West, 4,797 North Central, 1,716 North East)
- 6,175 cases are from the South area (1,228 South West, 1,999 South Central, 2,948 South East)
- 6,170 cases are from the Far North area (3,082 Far North West, 455 Far North Central, 2,633 Far North East)
- 3,388 cases are from the Central area (870 Central West, 2,518 Central East)
- 160 cases have pending residence information
- 1,203 cases are considered active and 50,032 cases are considered recovered
- Less than one-half (43.2%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category
- As of August 19th, a total of 86 individuals are hospitalized, including 70 inpatient hospitalizations and 16 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 86 patients, 65 (76%) are not fully vaccinated.

- 993,042 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 17, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 836,560 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,041,368 tests performed per million.
