28 year-old Nhigel (sic) Felipe Ceredon of Regina has been charged in that city in connection with three cases involving the suspicious behavior of a man around children; and in connection with a sexual assault alleged to have happened, after his arrest, in the Regina Police Detention area.
On May 30 police received a report of a suspicious male at Westhill Park in the 8100 block of Sherwood Drive. The suspect is alleged to have grabbed a five year-old boy by the shirt, trying to lead him away. Another child intervened and the man left the park.
On July 10, police were dispatched to another park, for a report of a man making sexually suggestive statements to children. Police arrived and found a suspect, confirmed his identity, and continued investigation into this incident.
On August 7, police received a report from a woman who indicated a man on a bicycle had approached her two children and allegedly touched one child in a sexual manner and tried to touch the second child. When the parents of the children confronted the man he allegedly took off his belt as if to use it as a weapon. A short time later, a suspect was arrested after another complaint of a man trying to persuade children to sit next to him on a bench.
Finally, On August 8, as the same suspect was being transported on remand, it is alleged he rubbed up against a Regina Special Constable, in a sexual manner, before being pulled away.
Ceredon is facing charges of Assault with a Weapon (belt), Invitation to Sexual Touching, 3 counts of Sexual Assault, and Assault.
