In 2019, the Saskatchewan Roughriders created the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation. The Foundation’s mission is to empower youth and communities and through the Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery, the Foundation will fund its three pillars of amateur sport, education, mental health and wellness initiatives for the province’s youth.
“Over the last year we have seen the amazing resilience of Saskatchewan’s youth, but now as we begin to come out of the pandemic, we want to support them in the return to something that feels more familiar,” said Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation Executive Director Cindy Fuchs. “In partnering with the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation on the Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery we will be able to ensure that kids across the province will be able to get back to the sports and activities they love while also receiving the health and wellness support that they need.”
Since the opening of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital in 2019, the Foundation has continued to focus on enhancing maternal and children’s health care in Saskatchewan by inspiring philanthropy to connect specialized technology, family-centred programming, and innovative research for newborns, children, teens and moms-to-be across the province. Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation serves children and families across Saskatchewan; specialty pediatric and maternal health care, along with the provinces’ only Pediatric Intensive Care Unit that ensure Saskatchewan’s youngest patients receive the highest quality of equipment and family-centred care.
“Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation is proud to partner with the Saskatchewan Roughrider Foundation for the Roughrider & Children’s Hospital Foundations Lottery,” said Brynn Boback-Lane, President and CEO of Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Foundation. “This past year has demonstrated that children and families continue to always require the very best health care and through this lottery and your support, we will continue to provide life-saving equipment, programs, and research for children and moms-to-be from every corner in our province. Every ticket you purchase will be life-changing to Saskatchewan children and their families. ”
