On social media, Saskatoon’s Mayor says he believes in vaccine passports. Charlie Clark says Saskatoon is the hotspot in the province with COVID-19 cases rising exponentially each day in the past week. He suggests the most important thing we can do is urge everyone to get vaccinated.
His post says, “I believe there need to be measures in place for people who choose not to be vaccinated, that put limits or conditions on how much they can participate in community activities. This includes vaccine passports, vaccination requirements for certain activities, and mandatory testing.” He adds that policies released by the Western Hockey League, the University of Saskatchewan, Sask Polytechnic, Amigo’s restaurant and others are good examples.
The City is still finalizing its policies for employees and also for public services, such as Transit and Leisure Centres.
