A 17 year old male charged in connection to an attack on a 15 year old girl, has pleaded guilty to sexual assault. He is back in court on October 14th which is when the additional charges of voyeurism and child pornography will be spoken to.
Saskatoon Police were called to Royal University Hospital on June 8 where the girl was being treated for non-life-threatening injuries.
Police said the girl was picked up from her home the previous night and taken to a location along the riverbank of the South Saskatchewan River where she was encouraged to drink alcohol before she was allegedly sexually assaulted by two males. Police say she was then left there by the river in a vulnerable state where she was discovered by a passerby who called for help.
23 year old Mohammad Kouman was also facing the same charges in the case. His bail was denied back in June when he appeared in court. Police say the girl has recovered from her physical injuries.
Investigators with the Saskatoon Police Service believe there may be other girls or women in the community who have been victimized in a similar way and encourage anyone with information to call Saskatoon Police or Crime Stoppers.
