Thursday’s COVID-19 report includes 158 new cases, 83 recoveries and two more people who tested positive for the virus have died, for a total fatalities to date of 594. There are 104 people in the hospital, including 19 in ICU, and the province says of these hospitalization, 75 per cent were not fully vaccinated.
Fourteen-hundred-ninety-two people got their COVID-19 shots on Wednesday, which is just over the number of tests administered, at 1,151. The number of active cases of the virus has more than tripled from a month ago on July 27th when it was 362. There are now 1,602 active cases in the province.

- One (1) SK resident tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in the North Central (from Aug 22 (1)) zone
- 53,004 cases are confirmed
- 12,565 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 12,400 cases are from the Regina area
- 11,772 cases are from the North area (4,995 North West, 4,959 North Central, 1,818 North East)
- 6,361 cases are from the Far North area (3,148 Far North West, 466 Far North Central, 2,747 Far North East)
- 6,257 cases are from the South area (1,252 South West, 2,021 South Central, 2,984 South East)
- 3,460 cases are from the Central area (902 Central West, 2,558 Central East)
- 189 cases have pending residence information
- 1,602 cases are considered active and 50,808 cases are considered recovered
- Almost two-fifths (36.7%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category
- Just over one-sixth (17.7%) of new cases were fully vaccinated
- As of August 26th, a total of 104 individuals are hospitalized, including 85 inpatient hospitalizations and 19 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 104 patients, 75 (72.1%) were not fully vaccinated.
- Two (2) new deaths reported today. 594 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died, with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
- 1,010,233 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 24, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 850,141 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,054,252 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 169 (14.0 new cases per 100,000)
