The federal NDP pledged this morning (sat) that the party will forgive up to 20 thousand dollars of student loan debt, remove interest from federal loans and double federal student grants. The NDP candidate for Saskatoon West, Robert Doucette says he’s committed to helping young people get ahead in life. He says more than half of Canada’s undergraduates are struggling to pay off nearly 30 thousand dollars in student debt. The Saskatoon-West candidate adds the NDP will make sure young people aren’t snowed under by student debt.
