There were 369 new cases of COVID-19 were reported on the provincial government’s dashboard Saturday with the Saskatoon region accounting for 112 of the new infections. Hospitalizations are up 13 to 110 with 25 people in ICUs. There was also one new death reported on Saturday. Saturday’s 369 new cases was the largest amount of new infections reported in a single-day since January 15th. Of the new cases, 38.5 per cent of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category.

- As of August 28th, there are 369 new confirmed cases of COVID-19, bringing the total to 53,617 reported cases
- The new cases are located in the Far North West (9), Far North Central (2), Far North East (41), North West (35), North Central (65), North East (24), Saskatoon (112), Central West (6), Central East (6), Regina (22), South West (3), South Central (8) and South East (9) zones and twenty-seven (27) new cases have pending residence information
- Eleven (11) cases with pending residence information were assigned to the Far North West (from August 25 (1) and August 26(1)), Far North Central (from August 26 (2)), North West (from August 26 (2)), North Central (from August 26 (2)), Saskatoon (from August 26 (2)) and Regina (from August 26 (1)) zones
- One (1) SK resident confirmed positive tested out-of-province was added to the case counts in Regina (from August 25 (1))
- Fifteen (15) false positive cases were removed from Regina (from July 13 (5), August 17 (4), August 18 (3)), South Central (from August 23 (1)), and South East (from July 13 (2)) zones
- 53,617 cases are confirmed
- 12,740 cases are from the Saskatoon area
- 12,425 cases are from the Regina area
- 11,981 cases are from the North area (5,056 North West, 5,065 North Central, 1,860 North East)
- 6,462 cases are from the Far North area (3,168 Far North West, 477 Far North Central, 2,817 Far North East)
- 6,297 cases are from the South area (1,260 South West, 2,034 South Central, 3,003 South East)
- 3,492 cases are from the Central area (918 Central West, 2,574 Central East)
- 220 cases have pending residence information
- 1,987 cases are considered active and 51,033 cases are considered recovered
- Just over one-third (38.5%) of new cases are in the 20 to 39 years age category
- As of August 28th, a total of 110 individuals are hospitalized; including 85 inpatient hospitalizations and 25 ICU hospitalizations. Of the 110 patients, 81 (73.6%) are not fully vaccinated
- One (1) new death reported today. 597 Saskatchewan residents with COVID-19 have died with a case fatality rate of 1.1%
- 1,017,908 COVID-19 tests have been performed in the province. As of August 26, 2021, when other provincial and national numbers are available from PHAC, Saskatchewan’s per capita rate was 855,986 tests performed per million. The national rate was 1,058,684 tests performed per million.
- The 7-day average of new COVID-19 case numbers was 210 (17.4 new cases per 100,000)
