Just because it’s September and the Labour Day Long Weekend, that doesn’t mean you shouldn’t expect to travel Saskatchewan’s highways without encountering construction. With that in mind, the Ministry of Highways is reminding motorists to travel safely through work zones. Work continues on the two northbound bridges of Highway 11 near Lumsden. Crews have completed one lane on each bridge and, weather permitting, the pouring of concrete for the second lanes is expected before this week is done. Motorists should see minimal disruptions at this site with flag-persons in place to control traffic, restricted to one lane over each bridge. Speeds will continue to be reduced to 80 km/h entering the valley from each direction and further reduced to 60 km/h through the construction site. This is of particular note to those making the trek to Regina for the Labour Day Classic. Check the Highway Hotline for additional road construction in the province this long weekend.
