The University of Saskatchewan is among a number of post-secondary institutions across Canada that is requiring proof of vaccinations for those on campus. Darcy Marciniuk, the chair of the school’s pandemic response team says proof of vaccination for first doses will be required as of today (tues). Proof of second doses will be required on October 18th.
Those who are unwilling to get vaccinated, or are unable to will be required to submit a daily symptom checklist and provide regular negative COVID-19 tests. Marciniuk says, “We are advising, and it’s very important, if someone isn’t feeling well, not to come onto campus but to consult with their healthcare provider and if necessary undergo a COVID test.”
Facemasks are also mandatory at the U of S. All of the new guidelines apply to students, faculty and staff.
