It was a day for numbers zooming upwards across the board when it came to COVID-19 in Saskatchewan, except for recoveries and vaccinations, according to Wednesday’s update from the provincial government dashboard. There were two new novel coronavirus-related deaths and 405 new COVID-19 cases, up 100 from Tuesday. Add in 256 recoveries, down 116 from Tuesday, and Saskatchewan’s active case count is up by 147 to 3,331.
The most startling increase was 27 more hospitalized patients from Tuesday, due to the virus, now at 181 in total across the province. From that number, there are 32 infections being treated in an I-C-U, up three from Tuesday.
The seven-day average for new cases of COVID-19 is now at 362, thanks to six consecutive days of 300-plus new cases in Saskatchewan. The province did report 99 more doses of vaccine administered on Tuesday as opposed to Monday, but that was only 393 total shots, of which 201 residents became fully immunized.
