The answers will come Friday as to who travels and who is on the depth chart, but following Thursday’s closed Saskatchewan Roughriders’ workout, head coach Craig Dickenson said defensive backs Ed Gainey and Loucheiz Purifoy both took part, but both were limited and both are 50-50 to play Saturday in Winnipeg.
As for veteran defensive tackle Micah Johnson, Dickenson said he is trending towards playing after missing the Labour Day Weekend Classic.
With the prospect of sweeping the home-and-home series and taking a stranglehold on first place in the C-F-L’s West Division, the Blue Bombers announced Thursday that the Banjo Bowl against the Green and White is sold out. The 33,000, mostly rabid Winnipeg, fans in attendance will be looking for a repeat of last Sunday’s 23-8 victory that leap-frogged the Bombers ahead of the Green and White with a 4-1 record while the Riders are 3-1.
Meanwhile, Dickenson revealed that Riders’ players are 95 per cent vaccinated with at least one shot. He said there are only three players who aren’t and while he didn’t name any names, none are believed to be starters.
