Saskatchewan has had its highest one-day total for new cases of COVID-19 since the pandemic began. There were 449 new cases reported Monday. The daily high prior to yesterday was November 21 of last year.
There were four new deaths with three people between 60 to 79 years of age succumbing to the virus and the other fatality was a person in the 80 and older age group. There are 209 people in hospital.
Saskatchewan has logged more than 400 new cases every day for the past three of four days. The Government of Saskatchewan says of the new cases, 387 were in unvaccinated people and 48 in fully vaccinated people. The remaining were individuals who are partially vaccinated. The highest number of new cases is in children with 148 who are 19 and under contracting the virus.
Of the 449 new cases, Saskatoon again reported the most with 105, followed by the North West Zone with 102, the North Central Zone with 43, Far North West with 40, North East 38, Far North East 19, Regina 13, South East 11, South West 11, South Central 9, Central East 9, Central West 6, and Far North Central 0.The seven day average of daily new cases is 377.
