Cody Fajardo (pictured) was on the Mosaic Stadium turf Tuesday and practiced with the Saskatchewan Roughriders first team offence.
The quarterback suffered a minor concussion in Saturday’s 33-9 Banjo Bowl loss in Winnipeg. However, Fajardo is still in concussion protocol and was considered limited Tuesday. Head coach Craig Dickenson says they will need to see how Fajardo feels this week before determining if he can play Friday against visiting Toronto. Isaac Harker finished the last game under centre while Paxton Lynch is on the one-game injured list and Mason Fine is on the Practice Roster.
Meanwhile, Loucheiz Purifoy was also out practicing Tuesday after missing the Winnipeg game due to injury. But, fellow defensive backs Ed Gainey or Mike Edem weren’t on the field. Gainey has a toe injury and is questionable for Saturday, although Dickenson hopes to get him out Wednesday. In addition, after being ejected from the Bombers’ game, linebacker A-J Hendy nor defensive lineman Garrett Marino were on the field Tuesday…but not because of the ejections. Hendy was sick while Marino has a knee injury and isn’t expected to play Friday. Back on offence, Jordan Williams-Lambert wasn’t on the field with Kian Schaffer-Baker running in his receiver spot.
