If you are waiting for a COVID-19 test result, you will be getting an automated notification as of this Friday, September 17th. The Saskatchewan Health Authority says that’s because of the increase in cases across the province.
In May, the SHA launched the auto-notification for negative COVID-19 test results and as of Friday, it will be for both negative and positive lab results through text message or phone calls. When you are being tested, you will be asked to provide or confirm your phone number. Notifications will be sent to that number for anyone 12 and over. Parents and guardians can receive results for dependents under the age of 18. Anyone who tests positive will also get a follow-up call within 24 to 48 hours.
These messages will be easily identifiable as coming from the Saskatchewan Health Authority with the short code 89364 for text messages or 306-655-4603 for voice call messages. This system will not require or ask for any financial information or ask you to provide any personal information beyond the information needed to verify or confirm that the correct person has been contacted.
